Thomas "Tom" Lee Phelps

Thomas "Tom" Lee Phelps, 71, of Meadville, passed away October 19, 2018 at home.

Tom was born in Meadville on November 4, 1946, a son of Marian L. (Hulsizer) Phelps and the late John Gordon Phelps.

On September 29, 1978 Tom married Shirley Thellman; she survives.

Over the years Tom had been employed at the former Talon Inc., in the construction field as well as the tool and die industry. He entered the US Navy in March, 1964 and served his country honorably until his discharge in May, 1966. He attended Meadville schools. Tom was an outdoors man. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, traveling, gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Shirley, his four children Melissa L. Woodworth (companion David Cogswell) of Sandy Lake, Debbie Phelps (fiance Greg Nichols) of WV, Jon Phelps (Kasandra) of Meadville, Andrea Brodeur Fournier of ME, his eight grandchildren Ryan Phelps, Deven Woodworth (Carli), Jordan Woodworth, Hunter Phelps, Rion Foltz, Justin Yard, Lindsey Franck, Tucker Yard, his great grandchild Haylei, his mother Marian L. Phelps of Meadville, his three sisters Cynthia L. Phelps of Meadville, Martha A. Phelps (Bill Halstead) of Allentown, Debbie Lowman (Dan) of Hilton Head, SC, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 3-6 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, followed by Funeral Services at 6:00 PM with Pastor Sam Marchetta, Chaplain of Wesbury UMC. officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.
