Theresa Marie (Deloss) Perrotto

Theresa Marie (DeLoss) Perrotto 96, of Meadville, passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Theresa was born on February 9, 1918 in Meadville, to immigrant parents, Joseph 'Giuseppe' and Concetta (Chieffo) DeLoss 'Dellosso', who came from Bagnoli Irpino, a providence of Avellino in the Naples region of Italy.

Theresa joined the Catholic Daughters of the Americas in 1940, and has celebrated a 74 year membership. She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church where she served as an Eucharistic Minister and Catchiest for many years. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society. When she was a member of St. Mary Church, she served as an organist and director of the Girls Church Choir.

She was also an active member of the Meadville Womens Club and the Reale Club for 84 years. Being one of the original School Crossing Guards for the city of Meadville brought Theresa many wonderful memories. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and bringing joy to others through her piano and organ music. She was devoted to her entire family, and her strong Christian Faith filled her days as she brought music to the infirmed in nursing homes, and participated in the preparation of bereavement dinners and masses.

On September 10, 1979 she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Lawrence Perrotto, co-owner, with his brother, James, of a local grocery store, 'Joes Superette'. Theresa and Joe were married on September 9, 1940 and celebrated 39 years together. Her deceased brothers include John, Michael, Alphanso and Anthony DeLoss as well as infant brothers Louis, Harry and Joseph DeLoss.

Her memory will be cherished by her two sons; Dr. Joseph Perrotto and his wife Marguerite of Westwood, MA, James Perrotto and his wife Carol of Erie, granddaughters Karen Moses and her husband, Scott, and their children Christian, Hannah and Paul of Port Allegany; Teresa Butler and Eddy Frances will treasure the moments they had with her; her two grandsons; Joseph Perrotto and his wife Emily and their children William and Elena of Colorado, and Dr. John Perrotto and his wife Barbara and their children Elle and Cole of Florida, along with a nephew Joe DeLoss and his wife Rose, two nieces Roslyn Mullen, Kathy Mosbacher and her husband Ron, her dear friend Madeline Simonetta and many loving nieces, nephews and God children will all miss her presence in their lives.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 1-6 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Service will be held at 3:00 and a Scripture Service will be held at 4:15.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor of St. Brigid officiating.

Theresa will be laid to rest next to her husband, Joseph, in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
