Susan L. Shreffler, 53, of 18365 State Hwy. 285, Cochranton, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at home.
Susan was born in Oakland, CA on October 14, 1958, a daughter of the late John R. and May B. (Swanson) Jockel.
On December 21, 1986, Susan married Danny K. Shreffler; he survives.
She was a member of Cornerstone Church of God, Meadville.
For more than 20 years Susan was employed in the food service industry. She worked as a cook at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Cribbs Home for 12 years, as a kitchen manager at the former Evergreens Restaurant, and as a waitress at the Iroquois Club. In 1977 she graduated from Meadville High School. Susan enjoyed camping, catering, reading and traveling.
In addition to her husband, Danny, of 24 years, Susan is survived by a son Jeffery Allen and his wife Jennifer of Meadville, a daughter April Shreffler Conaway and her husband Raymond of Meadville, two grandchildren Vincent Conaway, Kirra Conaway, two sisters Cheryl Howard and her husband David of Hudson, FL, Charlene Smith and her husband Tim of Conneaut Lake, a brother Charles Curry, Jr. of Homer, WV, 5 nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by a brother, David Jockel.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Cornerstone Church of God, 18320 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, with Pastor Gregg Giles.
Interment will take place in Hartstown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church of God, 18320 Conneaut Lake Rd., or The American Cancer Society, 505 Poplar St., Suite 310, or The Food Pantry of Center For Family Service, 632 Arch Street, all of Meadville, PA 16335.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
