Shirley Mae Smith, 85, of Guys Mills, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, at home.

Shirley was born in Meadville, on February 7, 1935, a daughter of the late William and Elmo (Carrol) Mook.

On December 31, 1955 Shirley married George E. "Smitty" Smith; he preceded her in death on January 7, 2008.

For many years Shirley was employed as a waitress at the former Niagra Hotel of Erie. She attended Saegertown schools. Shirley had a natural knack for decorating and enjoyed antiquing, decorating, shopping for her family and watching her favorite TV channel, QVC. Following her husband's retirement, Shirley delighted in working in the yard with him. She also loved caring for her beloved dog, Bobbie. Shirley's family was very important to her and she loved them deeply. She will be missed.

Shirley is survived by five children Debby Bosak (Ed) of Naples, FL, Jeff Smith (Jennifer) of Kansas, Sherri Holland (Bill) of Centerville, Kim Brunot (Mark) of Meadville, George D. Smith, of Guys Mills with whom she lived, nine grandchildren Michele, Michael, Jessica, Jackie, Marissa, Heather, Jessica, Justin, Nicole, ten great grandchildren, a sister Charlotte Hall of Saegertown, two brothers Bernie Mook (Bonnie) of Ohio, Art Mook (Gracie) of Mosiertown, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, "Smitty" of 52 years, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers.

Private family services will be held at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, with Pastor Sam Marchetta, Chaplain of Wesbury United Methodist Church, officiating. The service will be live streamed on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at 2:00 PM through Face Book Live. Your thoughts and prayers have been, and continue to be, much appreciated.

Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband in Saegertown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335.
