Shirley Jean O'Neil

Shirley Jean O'Neil, 79, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at home.

Shirley was born in Meadville, on November 22, 1941, a daughter of the late Wilford and Mary (Perry) Wood.

On May 2, 1980, Shirley married Albert Duane O'Neil; he preceded her in death on April 23, 2010. She had previously been married to Herbert Ray Hunt, Sr. who predeceased her on October 28, 1986.

After attending Saegertown Schools, Shirley earned her GED in Meadville. For many years she was employed as a cook at various local restaurants including the former Pizza Parlor, Pub on the Square, and the Double Barrell. She had also worked at Walmart, Giant Eagle, and C & J Industries. When she was no longer able to work, she enjoyed adult coloring books. Family was the most important part of her life and she loved them dearly. She will be missed.

Shirley is survived by four children Twila Mack, Jeff Hunt (Donna) both of Meadville, Brian Hunt of Cochranton, Tammy Cline (Ricky) of Guys Mills; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Albert, of 29 years, Shirley was preceded in death by three children Herbert Hunt, Jr., Pamela Molock, Kimberly Stritzinger; her siblings Russell Wood, Beverly Leonart, Bill Leonart, Frances Shorts, Pat Barretta, JoAnn Rice, Florence Manross and infant sister Rose Wood; and a son in law Homer Mack, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11-1 on Monday, June 28, 2021, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where funeral services will follow at 1 PM.

Shirley will be laid to rest in Geneva Memorial Cemetery, Greenwood Twp.
