Santo A. Orlando, 87, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, formerly of 418 Arch St., Meadville, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville.

Santo was born at home at 293 Pine Street in Meadville on September 7, 1927, a son of the late Sebastiano and Maria Grace (Petruso) Orlando.

He was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

For more than 25 years, Santo had been employed by the former American Viscose in the Spinning Department. A veteran of World War II, Santo entered the US Army on October 16, 1945 and served his country until his honorable discharge on February 2, 1947. He loved to fish and hunt.

Santo is survived by a son Robert Orlando of Alaska, a daughter Mary Brawly of Pittsburgh, two brothers Dominic with whom he had lived, Frank, both of Meadville, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Santo was preceded in death by three brothers Anthony Orlando, Samuel Orlando, Joseph Orlando, and a sister, Sister M. Paul Orlando.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 9-10 AM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor, officiating.

Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Santo will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
