Ruth Caroline Sisco

Ruth Caroline Sisco, age 90, of Lititz, PA, passed from this earth into the arms of her Lord on December 26th, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, PA.

She was born in Newark, NJ, to the late Bartholomew & Josephine (Frey) Lyman and was the wife of the late Elmer C. Sisco, who passed away in October, 2005, and to whom she was married for 58 years.

Ruth lived in Pompton Plains, NJ for many years, before moving to Sinking Spring, PA. She moved to Luther Acres in Lititz, PA, where she resided for 10 years.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Brett, of Lititz, PA, Barry and his wife Karan, of Downingtown, PA; 4 grandchildren, Dianne, Amanda, Brett Jr. & Tonya; 5 great-grandchildren, Layla, Sam, Ellie, Matthew & Julie.

Ruth was raised in the Catholic faith and was a gentle soul, always making every attempt to treat others fairly, kindly and without judgment. She saw the good in people and was quick to forgive. It is said that Gandhi wrote, 'You must be the change you wish to see in the world'. Ruth exemplified that statement, and she left her family with a legacy of love and respect for others. She gave love, and people were better for having known her true nature of kindness.

A funeral service for family and friends will be held at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home, 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA on Saturday, December 31st at 2 pm with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 pm to 2 pm. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 3rd, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville, PA.
