Robert Louis Hanka

Robert Louis Hanka, 91, of 20881 State Hwy. 198, Saegertown, formerly of 15879 State Hwy. 86, Meadville, passed away Sunday, January 12th, 2014 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Robert was born in Meadville, on July 20, 1922, a son of the late Edgar H. and Lucile (Cotton) Hanka.

In 1951 Robert married Gertrude R. Eccles; she preceded him in death in 1996.

He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Meadville.

Robert retired from the former Abex Corporation. He was a member of Meadville Eagles Club #429, Elks BPO #219, Meadville Moose Lodge #2505 and West Mead II Volunteer Fire Department. A avid collector of coins and stamps, Robert also enjoyed golfing.

Robert is survived by a step daughter, Patricia A. Petroski of South Carolina, a grandson, a granddaughter, three great grandchildren, a sister Betty H. Coombs, a brother Gary L. Hanka, both of South Carolina, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gertrude.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring of 2014 at a time and date which will later be announced.

Interment will take place in Huber Cemetery.
