Raymond J. Edwards

Raymond J. Edwards, 73, of 356 Pine St., Meadville, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Raymond was born in Pittsburgh, on December 11, 1941, a son of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Shuder) Edwards.

On October 31, 1959 Raymond married Edythe Vickers; she survives.

For many years Raymond was the owner and operator of his own wrecking business in Kinsman, OH. He was a veteran of the US Army. Raymond enjoyed fishing and going to rummage sales as well as flea markets. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will forever be missed by all his family.

In addition to his wife, Edythe, of 55 years, Raymond is survived by six children Candy Tatters, Raymond Edwards, Rodney Edwards, Randy Edwards, Ryan Edwards and his wife Christa, Shannon Edwards all of Meadville, 21 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a close friend Pete Murphy of Meadville.

In addition to his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Edwards, Raymond was preceded in death by a daughter Sherri Ann and a grandson Zander Cage.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 12-2 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeffrey Conley, Pastor of Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.

Following Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, Raymond will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
