Philamena "Phil" Furno

Philamena "Phil" Furno, 92, of 1120 Market St., Meadville, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Phil was born in Meadville on October 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nicolina (Giordano) Saputo.

In 1948 Phil married John Charles Donaldson and subsequently married John Furno; they both predeceased her.

She was a lifetime member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

Phil worked part time at the former Talon, Inc. while attending high school, which was not uncommon during WW II. She graduated from Meadville High School in 1945. Over the years, she had also worked at the former Meadville Italian Bakery, Wooden Keg, Two's Company and Burger King. She enjoyed reading and was very good at completing crossword puzzles.

Phil is survived by two daughters JoAnn Badagliacca, Jacklynn Donaldson, both of Meadville, two grandsons Joseph Allen Badaglia (Myra) of Panama City, FL, Jason Badia of Denver, CO, two great grandsons Blake and Joseph Edwin, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters Madelyn Saputo, Esther Phelps, four brothers Joseph Jr., Vincent, Abey and Carl Saputo.

Family and friends are invited to call from 9-10 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville.

Phil will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
