Pete J. Limano, 93, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, formerly of 804 Stewart Street, Meadville, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Pete was born in Meadville, on November 6, 1920, a son of the late John and Virginia (Pasilla) Limano.

On May 4, 1957 Pete married Evelyn Schwab; she preceded him in death on October 21, 2006.

He was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

After 38 years of service, Pete retired in 1985 from the Sales Department of Weber Harris Ford. In his earlier years he was employed by the former Westinghouse. A veteran of WW II, Pete entered the US Army on October 9, 1944 and served his country honorably until his discharge on August 25, 1945. He was a 1938 graduate of Meadville High School. Pete enjoyed traveling to Florida with his wife, Evelyn, where they spent many winter months together with his sister, Grace Higby. He loved following NY Giants football, SF Giants baseball and Notre Dame sports. His hobbies including playing B.I.N.G.O. and attending dog races.

Pete is survived by a brother Michael Limano and his wife Charlene, two sisters Ethel Basile and her husband Joe, Betty Saputo, all of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife Evelyn, Pete was preceded in death by a son Michael Goetz, a sister Grace Higby and a brother Joseph Limano.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.

Pete will be laid to rest next to his wife, Evelyn, in St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Crawford County and Wesbury for the fine care which they gave to Pete.
