Oliver E. Brown, 83, of 9836 Franklin Pike, Meadville, passed away Wednesday, November 6th, 2013 at home.

Oliver was born in Dehue, WV on March 12, 1930, a son of the late Roby and Gertrude (Stiltner) Brown.

On May 4, 1964 Oliver married Emma D. Miller; she survives.

He was a member of Wayland Baptist Church , Meadville.

Oliver retired in the 1970s from the River Terminal Railroad in Cleveland, OH. He had previously been employed as a coal mine worker in West Virginia. Additionally Oliver had worked building new homes as well as remodeling existing homes in Ohio, Florida and Kentucky. He attended schools in West Virginia and earned his GED in the state of Florida. He was a member of the Masonic Village Lodge #274, Burton, OH.

In addition to his wife, Emma, of 49 years, Oliver is survived by three children William 'Bobby' R. Brown and his wife Gail of Parma, OH, Barbara Wiley of Norfolk, VA, Mary Anne Miller and her husband Andy of Meadville, 20 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, a sister Lora Brown of Tampa, FL, a brother Thomas Brown and his wife Jean of Champion, OH, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Oliver was preceded in death by a son Ronald E. Brown, three brothers Ulysses Brown, Dewey Brown, Andy Brown, two sisters Beatrice McNeely and Eva Sizemore.

Family and friends are also invited to call on Thursday from 4-7 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Prayer Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Harlan Nefstead, Pastor of Wayland Baptist Church leading.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 5-8 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Rd., Middlefield, OH, where Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 9th, with David A. Miller, grandson, officiating.

Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mesopotamia, OH.
