Norma Jean Foster

Norma Jean Foster, 84, of Meadville, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, at Meadville Medical Center.

Norma was born in Meadville, on July 21, 1937, a daughter of late Luther and Sarah (Coleman) Manus.

Norma graduated from Meadville Senior High School in 1956. She was a member of the first graduating class of the Crawford County Career and Technical Center Practical Nursing Program of 1969. Norma was a LPN for 35 years working at both the former City and Spencer Hospitals Meadville, as well as Hamot Hospital of Erie.

Norma loved fishing, traveling to her grandchildren’s sporting events, crossword puzzles, and a good conversation on the porch.

Norma was married to the late Johnny Foster for 35 year. Norma is survived by her three loving children, Jonathan Foster of Baltimore, MD, Jaqueline Langston (Willie) of Bates, MS, Tammy Foster of Meadville; five grandchildren Shandice, Asia, Jelani, Artrel, and Armoni; and six great grandchildren. She also is survived by her dear cousin Marva Ann Posey of Cranberry; step brother Luther Manus of Erie; and dear family friend Curas Newsome also of Erie.

Norma was preceded in death by three stepsisters Jean Manus, Harriet Manning, Shirley Harris; and one stepbrother, William Manus.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-5 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at United Faith Fellowship Church, 561 State Street Meadville, where Funeral Services will follow at 5:00 PM with Rev. Gary Manning and Rev. Beverly Williams officiating.

Norma will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
