Nevin B. Leonhart

Nevin B. Leonhart, 76, of Meadville, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 2, 2023, at home.

Nevin was born in Meadville, on October 31, 1946, a son of the late Walter T. and Virginia (Farnham) Leonhart.

On May 7, 1970 Nevin married Marie Hayden; she survives.

He was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church.

Over the years Nevin had been employed in the maintenance department of the former American Viscose, Crawford Central School District, SMC, and worked road maintenance for Woodcock Township. He was currently working for Peterson Auto Supply in Saegertown. A US veteran, Nevin entered the Navy on March 24, 1966, served his country honorably until his discharge on January 23, 1968, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Nevin was a member of Crawford County Masonic Lodge #234, Zem Zem Shrine Club, Saegertown American Legion Post #205 and served with Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department for several years.

In addition to his wife, Marie, of 52 years, Nevin is survived by a daughter Melissa Leonhart; a sister Rebecca R. Trobee of Union City; an uncle Richard Crane, a niece Regina Keppel (Earl); and a great nephew Garrett.

In addition to his parents, Nevin was preceded in death by a son Nevin B. Leonhart II; and a brother in law Bill Trobee.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD ST., SAEGERTOWN, where Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, with Pastor Jeff Little of Seagertown United Methodist Church officiating.

Nevin will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, in Townley Cemetery, Cambridge Springs.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nevin's memory to Shriners Children's Hospital, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
