N. Scott Davis

N. Scott Davis, 75, of 19619 Collier Dr., Meadville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 10, 2015, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

Scott was born in Meadville, on December 9, 1939, a son of the late Harold M. and Wilma J. (Peelman) Davis.

On September 6, 1958, Scott married Charlotte L. Brink; she survives.

He was an active and well respected member of Meadville Alliance Church where he was comfortable in many leadership roles. He served as Head Elder for decades and was a former Sunday School teacher.

At the age of 16 Scott began working at Pennsylvania Tool & Gage in the evenings after school. He continued learning and eventually worked as a Tool and Die Grinder Specialist for Kuhn Tool and Die for most of his 40 year career. He was a 1957 graduate of Meadville High School. Scott always stayed busy and was a man of many talents. He enjoyed woodworking, making bird houses, making lamps and working in his well manicured lawn. He was both a perfectionist as well as a hard worker. If Scott encountered something he did not know how to do, he would read and research until he was comfortable doing it. In all aspects of his life, Scott lived up to the Boy Scout ideals he learned in his scouting days. He always did his best; he was dutiful to God and he was dutiful to others. He will be remembered as a loving, kind and thoughtful father and grandfather and the best husband God could have given. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, Charlotte, of 56 years, Scott is survived by two daughters LaVaugn Gentry and her husband Scott of Saegertown, Tammy Peterson and her husband Dr. Jack of Cochranton, four grandchildren Brittany LaVaugn Gentry, Chad Alan Peterson, Tiffany Lauren Gentry, Tara Lynette Peterson, a brother Richard Davis of West Palm Beach, FL, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by three brothers Ronald, Daniel and David Davis.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5-8 PM and on Friday from 12-1 PM at Meadville Alliance Church, 660 N. Main St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jeffrey Conley, Pastor, officiating.

Scott will be laid to rest in Venango Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, or Meadville Alliance Church, 660 N. Main St., both in Meadville, PA 16335.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
