Mildred L Slawson Saxton Scannell, 100, of 9108 State Hwy. 198, Conneautville, formerly of Erie, passed away Saturday, April 16th, 2011, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville.
Mildred was born in Bayonne, NJ on February 19, 1911, a daughter of the late Charles and Mable Elwood Price.
For many years, Mildred had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Saegertown County Home. She enjoyed shopping, especially at dollar stores, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
Mildred is survived by nine children David Slawson and his wife Lois of Cochranton, Nancy Staal of Erie, Judith Proper and her husband John of Chester VA, Daniel Saxton of Jamestown, NY, Steve Saxton and his wife Jennifer of Erie, Susan Sherwood of Harrisburg, Sandra Motter and her husband Ronald of Townville, Michael Saxton and his wife Rose of Meadville, Mary Ruth of Elmira, NY, nine step children , Beverly Dailey and her husband Richard of Chester, VA, Hazel MacAlevy and her husband Clifford of Centerville, James Saxton and his wife Carol of Florida, Virginia Debney of Columbus, OH, Jean Rogers of Edinboro, Howard Saxton and his wife Emma of Florida, Donna Goodwill and her husband Don of Waterford, Nancy Henderson and her husband Paul of Titusville, Beulah Herb and her husband Bud of Titusville, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by three sons Dick, Donald and Tom Slawson, eight step children Duane Saxton, Richard Saxton, Carl Saxton, Weldon Saxton, Alvin Saxton, Patricia Reese, Mildred Anthony, and Earl Saxton, Jr.
A Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Townville United Methodist Church, 33279 N. Main St., Townville.
Interment will take place in Saegertown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Townville United Methodist Church, 33279 N. Main St., Townville, PA 16360.
