Melvin J. Strathen, Jr.

Melvin J. Strathen, Jr., 71, of Linesville, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at home.

Melvin was born in Pittsburgh, on July 4, 1950, a son of the late Melvin J. and Grace (Walcer) Strathen, Sr.

Melvin married Rebecca "Becky" McVicar; she survives.

Melvin began his career in Law Enforcement as a Police Officer in Aetna before working for the Marshall's Office in Pittsburgh. He was employed as a PA State Constable and made many close friends who were dear to him. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed hunting. Melvin was very patriotic and will be remembered as a person who loved God, his country and the flag.

In addition to his wife, Becky, Melvin is survived by two step sons Jeromy McNulty and his wife Kala of TN, Brandon McNulty of Linesville; and close cousin Johnny Rutkowski and his wife Paula of Pittsburgh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Russell Strathen.

Per Melvin's wishes, private services will be held at a later date.
