Mary Deletta (Dorothy) Capozzi Nuzzulo

Mary Deletta (Dorothy) Capozzi Nuzzulo died peacefully June 1, 2010 from complications with her heart.Dorothy was born in Meadville to Anthony and Josephine (Miele) Capozzi on August 9, 1920. She was raised by Frank and Mary (Miele) Capozzi in Poughkeepsie, New York. Dorothy returned to Meadville during her teen years to live with her family.
She married John Sebastian Nuzzulo on September 5, 1938 and mothered three children.
Dorothy worked beside her husband John in numerous businesses. Following his sudden death on August 23, 1958, Dorothy ran the family business, Lakeside Beer Distributor in Conneaut Lake. She was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, St. Marys Altar Rosary Society, and the Italian Civic Club Auxiliary.
Dorothys life revolved around her famiglia and is survived by her three children and their spouses: John and Joan (Moyer) Nuzzulo, Elizabeth (Nuzzulo) and Daniel DeFigio, and Christina (Nuzzulo) and Daniel Cullen. Dorothys grandchildren represent her strongest legacy: Mark Carnes, Kimberly (Nuzzulo) and Stanley Huggins, Jamie (Nuzzulo) and Kevin Shannon, Mary Beth (Nuzzulo) and Mark Ritthaler, D. Kacy and Stacy Cullen, Jana (Cullen) and W. Scott Baker, Cory Cullen and Jaimie Sebastianelli, and Christopher Cullen. Dorothys close-knit Italian family includes nine great-grandchildren: Alexis and Cody Carnes, Jack and Carly Huggins, Quinn and Keenan Shannon, Katherine and Matthew Ritthaler, and Vivian Cullen. Dorothy adored her nieces and nephews, many of whom are native to the area.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband John Sebastian Nuzzulo, brothers John and Michael Capozzi, and sisters Anna (Capozzi) Barco and Carmella (Capozzi) LaPuma.
