Mark "Tim" Timothy Smith

Mark Timothy "Tim" Smith, 66, of Meadville, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a courageous seven year battle with bladder cancer.

Tim was born in Meadville, on August 9, 1953, a son of the late Rae F. and Marie C. (Davern) Smith.

On September 10, 1977 Tim married Debbie A. Moore; she survives.

He was an active member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church where he served on Pastoral Council, taught Religious Ed classes, including the Confirmation Class for many years, and faithfully worked the fish dinners.

A 1971 graduate of Meadville High School, Tim attended the former Alliance College in Cambridge Springs and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Over the years Tim was employed by the former First National Bank, as a Tool and Die maker at Talbar Tool for 25 years, and at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home before retiring from NuTec Tool in 2017. Tim was a 4th Degree Member of Knight of Columbus - Council #388. For many years he faithfully volunteered at Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Center every Friday. He enjoyed going to hunting camp as well as playing cards, especially Euchre. Tim was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He loved attending all the sporting events, concerts and school activities of his children and grandchildren. He loved his family deeply and that love was returned to him. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife Debbie of 42 years, Tim is survived by a son Mark T. Smith, II and his wife Nicole, Elizabeth "Libby" A. Smith and her companion Matthew Courtney, both of Meadville, two beloved grandchildren Natalie Grace Smith and Patrick Timothy Smith, a brother Thomas R. Smith and his wife JoAnn of Blooming Valley, two nieces Paula Acre and her husband Mike, Pamela Smith, a nephew Kyle Smith and his wife Anna.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 3-7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. David Foradori officiating.

Tim will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
