Louise W. Walker

December 27, 1926 — August 22, 2020

Louise W. Walker

Louise William Walker, 92, of Meadville, departed this earth on Saturday, August 22, 2020, to enter her heavenly home.

Louise was born in Meadville, on December 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Webster and Mary (Harrison) Jones.

On December 27, 1948 Louise married Benjamin Franklin Walker. They were blessed with a son, Benjamin Franklin Walker, Jr.; they both predeceased her.

She was a former member of Bethel AME Church where she served as a stewardess, helped with counting of offerings, and she loved serving her God as an usher, where she could great and seat members, friends and visitors. She later became a member of St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Louise was a homemaker and made the best zucchini muffins and pound cake whose recipe she begged from her good friend Elsie. She loved making her greens for family and friends and only shared her greens and zucchini muffins recipes with two of her nieces. She enjoyed watching her daytime soap operas and did not want to be bothered while watching her favorite, Days of Our Lives, which she watched up until July. Even though Louise became very hard of hearing, she enjoyed visiting and shopping with her best friends Daisey Trantham, Leona Overton and the late Elsie McClure and Frances Dixon. Louise loved her poodle, April, and got her cat, May, in 2010 which she enjoyed babying and spoiling. Louise will be forever loved by her family and friends and they will deeply miss her sense of humor.

Louise is survived by her loving sisters in law Kay Jones, Eva Jones, a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, husband, and son, Louise was preceded in death by three brothers Samuel Jones, Paul H. Jones (Sue), Webster Jones and loving sister Dorothy Jones Overton.

Due to Covid, a memorial service will be held in 2021, so that family and friends may gather safely to share memories and honor Louise's life.

A private committal service with Pastor Cameron Bowman officiating, will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where Louise will be laid to rest.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Decker, whom she thought very highly of, as well as his staff, her aides Brenda and Connie, who came weekly, and her friends who have shown love and concern.

Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
