It is with sadness that the family of C. Lewis (Junior) Terrill, 92, of Saegertown, announce his passing away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024, with his family by his side.
Lewis was born in Cambridge Springs, on April 24, 1931, a son of the late Claude and Marjorie (Straw) Terrill.
On June 16, 1951 Lewis married Virginia "Ginny" Wargo; she survives.
He was a graduate of Saegertown High School, Class of 1949 and attended Hamlin Chapel.
Lewis retired from Dean Foods, Sharpsville, as manager of milk procurement where he received the PA Association of Dairy Sanitarians and Dairy Laboratory Analysis Award of Merit in 1992. He previously had been employed by Greenleaf Corp. in the engineering dept., Goodyear Aircraft in Akron, OH, as a blueprint supervisor, Saegertown Beverage Co. and Erie-Crawford Co-op. He was a former volunteer for the Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department. A veteran of the US Army, Lewis served with the US Army 64th Tank Battalion at Fort Knox, KY and Fort Benning GA from December 14, 1954 until his honorable discharge September 13, 1956. Lewis enjoyed deer hunting resulting in him making sausage, bologna, and jerky to give to family and friends. When his children were growing up, he enjoyed attending their sporting and band events, and officiating little and big league baseball games. He took great pride and enjoyment in caring for his meticulous yard and he liked doing carpenter work, always having some project to work on. He will be remembered for his competitive spirit while playing the card game Hearts with his family. His greatest accomplishment was being called dad, grandpa and pa-pa as his family was very important to him.
In addition to his wife Ginny of 72 years, Lewis is survived by his children; Douglas Terrill (Sabrina) of Winter Springs, FL, Cynthia Pentycofe (Greg) of Cambridge Springs; four grandchildren Justin (Lucy), Crystal, Zack and Jake; five great grandchildren William, Andrew, Sadie, Emersyn and Conrad; nieces Judy Ashby (Stanley), Janet Hobbs, Michele Bostick (Frank); nephews Jeff Koket (Kathleen), Mike Ferris; and cousins.
In addition to his parents Lewis was preceded in death by an infant brother Harold Terrill, sister Sara Roose (Virgil) and a niece Carol Haulet.
We wish to thank the staff at Rolling Fields Elder Care for their compassionate care, especially Ashley, Sara, Nicole, Ariel, Tammy and Raine. Also Lakeland Area Hospice.
