Lawrence L. Winans, Ii

Lawrence L. Winans, II, 69, of Leavittsburg, OH, formerly of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center, Warren, OH due to Covid complications.

Lawrence was born in Meadville on October 28, 1951, the son of the late Lawrence L. and Larue Bennett Winans.

Lawrence was a graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School, class of 1969 and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.  In 1978 he completed an apprenticeship in Tool and Die at Imperial Carbide, Inc.  For close to 30 years he worked as a tool and die maker for Packard Electric, Co., Warren, OH, retiring in 2006.    Lawrence was then employed by Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs, working with the Meals On Wheels Program.  He was a member of Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table and Trumbull Lodge 186 Loyal Order of Moose, Warren, OH. He cherished making memories with others and enjoyed traveling to historic landmarks with many family and friends, cruising throughout the Northern Hemisphere, and learning and disseminating his family genealogy and US history.

His generous nature was evident through his dedication to others, whether he was delivering meals on wheels, restoring family headstones and monuments or just being a good neighbor. He will be sadly missed.

Lawrence is survived by a brother Shane Winans (Sandra), sisters in law Kathleen Winans and Linda Winans all of Meadville; several nieces and nephews Andy Winans (Deanna), Melissa Herrmann (Eric), their son Logan, Bradley Winans (girlfriend Maureen Chapin), Sarah Burroughs (Josh), Ronda Mitrik (Greg), their children Heath and Devon, Steven Winans (Leah), their children Jase and Cy, and Susan Winans. He is further survived by several cousins, aunts, uncles and lifelong friend, Huntington Christie.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at ROSSI AND SON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1884 NORTH ROAD, NE, WARREN, OH 44483 and from 2-4 on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, PA  16335 where Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 25, 2021, with Rev. Benjamin Travis, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Meadville, officiating. CDC guidelines will be followed.

Lawrence will be laid to rest in Lyona Cemetery.
