Larry "Red" R. Crecraft

Larry "Red" R. Crecraft, 74, of Saegertown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Meadville Medical Center.

Larry was born in Effingham, IL, on November 3, 1947, a son of Patricia (Carroll) and the late Lloyd Crecraft.

He was a 1965 graduate of Saegertown High School and went on to attend New Castle Business College. He married Mary (Hasenkopf) Beers on June 21, 1998; she survives.

Larry retired from the US Postal Service after many years as a letter carrier and supervisor. Affectionately known as "Red" to all that knew him, Larry touched many lives as a dedicated youth baseball coach. He also was a loyal and enthusiastic fan of Saegertown High School wrestling, and was a fixture at matches for many years. Red loved all things sports and could tell you any statistic you wanted to know. A dedicated father and grandfather, he loved to "entertain" his family with detailed lectures on many (and any!) topics. These eye roll provoking lessons have now become cherished memories.

Along with his wife, Mary, Red is survived by his mother Patricia "Pat" Crecraft; his son Brian; his step daughters Heather (Mike) Davis, Keri (Jason) Trace; his granddaughters Sydney, Jayden, Megan, Ella, and Lori; his brothers Gordon (Linda) Crecraft, James (Shawna) Crecraft, and Michael Crecraft; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
