Joseph "Joe" J. Paris, Sr.

Joseph "Joe" J. Paris, Sr., 74, of 1120 Market Street, Meadville, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Marquette Hospice House.

Joe was born in Meadville, on November 27, 1940, a son of the late Joseph J. and Carmella (Basile) Paris.

He had been married to Janet G. Johnson.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

Joe retired in 2002 from the maintenance department of Meadville Medical Center. He previously had been employed by the former Erie Lackawana Railroad and Conrail. He attended Meadville High School. An avid golfer, Joe was a member of the Golf League at Whispering Pines where he shot a hole in one. He enjoyed his bowling league during the winter months. Joe loved playing cards with is sister Helen, his brother Richard and sister in law Sandy. He also enjoyed dancing at the Italian Civic Club and V.F.W. Post #2006 where he held memberships. For Joe, the highlight of each day was going for his daily coffee and visiting with his many friends.

Joe is survived by four children Eileen Wilkinson and her husband Dave, Joseph J. Paris, Jr., both of Meadville, Bryan Paris and his wife Dianna of Lexington, SC, Vince Paris and his wife Melinda of Camden, SC, four grandchildren Christopher Wilkinson and his wife Brittany, Justin Wilkinson and his wife Taylor, Anthony Paris and his wife Kirsten, Nicholas Paris, a great grandchild Haleigh, a sister Helen Gumino and her husband Tony of Erie, a brother Richard Paris and his wife Sandy of Meadville, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Paris.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt, Pastor of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Joe will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
