John A. Anselmo

John A. Anselmo, 64, of 773 Alden St., Meadville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Meadville Medical Center.

John was born in Meadville, on November 27, 1952, a son of the late Joseph J. and Mary D. (Frisina) Anselmo.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

John was employed by Northwest Pharmacy Solutions, Meadville. He had previously been employed by Kiser Aluminum (now known as Accuride) and by G.E., both in Erie. While living in Ohio he had been employed by Nucor Corporation. A 1970 graduate of Meadville High School, John went on to further his education by studying Engineering for four years at Arizona State University. John was an avid outdoors man who loved hiking, biking and mountain biking. He had a keen knowledge of the local terrain and especially of the streams in Pennsylvania and New York. John enjoyed golfing, exercising, and traveling about; he was always on the go. John will be remembered for his caring heart. He looked for ways to quietly help others, especially those less fortunate. He will be sadly missed.

John is survived by two brothers Joseph Anselmo and his wife Bobby of Phoenix, AZ, James Anselmo of Meadville, a sister Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Beachy and her husband David of Meadville, his significant other of 11 years Fran Smith of Meadville, her children Gregory, Jessica and Brandon Smith, her mother Wilma Sandoval her sister Alicia Lamb and her husband Thom, both of Oklahoma City, OK, a great niece Rosie Alvarez, many cousins and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-5 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 4:45

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 26, 2017, with Fr. Tom Trocchio, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

John will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
