Joan B. (Bundy) Leonheart, 89, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Marquette Hospice House.

Joan was born in Pittsburgh on June 12, 1932, a daughter of the late Stephen Atwood and Elsie Anna (Silberger) Bundy.

On October 11, 1958 Joan married Frank "George" Leonheart; he preceded her in death on December 21, 1998.

She was an active member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society and the 55+ Card Club. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Over the years Joan had been employed by the Hillside Home, the former American Brakeshoe, the former Spencer Hospital, the former G.C. Murphy Co. and McCrosky Tool. A 1950 graduate of Saegertown High School, she was very involved in school sports as well as school clubs and organizations, and was very proud of being a Saegertown school cheerleader. Joan was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need in her community, her church and her neighborhood. She had volunteered countless hours to the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, the RSVP Program, the Soup Kitchen and St. Brigid Church. Joan was a lifetime member of Vernon Central Hose Co., a member of the Eat and Travel Club, the AARP and the former Spencer Hospital Auxiliary. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, motor cycle riding, traveling with the Eat and Travel Club, playing cards, and taking bus trips, especially to the casinos. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family and friends.

Joan is survived by two sons Troy A. Leonheart (Patrick) of Baldwin, MD, Michael S. Leonheart of Palm Springs, CA, two brothers S. Donald Bundy (Joan) of Lewis Center, OH, Thomas J. Bundy (Jo) of Weems, VA, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a lifelong friend, Angeline "Angie" Adams, of Meadville.

In addition to her parents and her husband Frank of 40 years, Joan was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Jane Bundy.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 2-5 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a C.D. of A. service will be held at 3:30 and a Scripture Service will take place at 4:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Joe Petrone, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Joan will be laid to rest with her husband, Frank, in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
