Jean Frances Wood

Jean Frances Wood, 88, of 455 Chestnut St. Meadville, formerly of Saegertown, passed away Thursday, March 17th, 2011, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.
Jean was born in Meadville, on June 26, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Jannot) Roae.
On February 5, 1942 Jean married Kenneth C. Wood; he preceded her in death on March 30, 2006.
She was a member of Watson Run Church of God, Meadville.
For over 13 years, Jean had been employed by Penncrest School District as a Saegertown Middle School cafeteria worker. She was a member of the Saegertown American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jean is survived by four children Jolane Price and her husband Art of Saegertown, Darnell Hopkins of Saegertown, Joe 'Bud' Wood and his wife Janel of Meadville, Arnett Mortensen and her husband John of North Richland Hills, TX, eight grandchildren Mark, Ed and Craig Price, Karrah and Nathan Hopkins, Allison Miller, Matthew Berkstresser and Braden Wood, 12 great grandchildren, a sister Arlene (Roae) Smith of Saegertown, a son-in-law James Hopkins of Meadville, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Kenneth of 64 years and her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a sister Marion Kightlinger, two brothers Dobie Roae and Charles Roae.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 21, 2011, with Kenneth Hough, Pastor of Watson Run Church of God, officiating.
Interment will take place in Venango Cemetery.
