Iva J. Rearick

Iva J. Rearick, 86, of 14934 W. Vernon Rd., Meadville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Meadville Medical Center.

Iva was born at home in Guys Mills, on December 19, 1929, a son of the late Fred and Angie (Cutshall) Mailliard.

On December 16, 1945 Iva married H.D. "Lefty" Rearick; he preceded her in death on April 13, 1985.

Iva was of the Protestant Faith.

After 40 years of service, Iva retired in 1995 as an Inspector from the former Talon, Inc. of Meadville. She attended the former Randolph High School. Her true passion was hot air ballooning and she had been up in a hot air balloon nine times, each time looking forward to her next flight. Additionally she was a crew member and chaser for the Thurston Classic. An animal lover, Iva enjoyed caring for her cat, dogs and horse. Her greatest joy was being with her family.

Iva is survived by a daughter Cindy L. Rearick of Meadville, a son Ron E. Rearick and his wife Cecilia of Saegertown, four grandchildren Ronald Gourley, Sean Rearick, Michelle Gourley, Kayla Rearick, two great grandchildren Ronnie Gourley, Tasha Percinthe, several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, "Lefty" of 39 years, Iva was preceded in death by two daughters Cheryl Hall, Darlene Gourley, one grandson Nevin B. Leonhart, II, a great great granddaughter, three brothers Alfred Mailliard, Roy Mailliard and Leonard Mailliard.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
