Isabel Ann Kindervater

Isabel Ann (Anselmo) Kindervater, 88, of Meadville, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Wesbury.

Isabel was born at the former Spencer Hospital, Meadville, on June 28, 1935, a daughter of the late Frank G. and Josephine (Frisina) Anselmo.

Isabel had been married to Kenneth A. Kindervater.

She was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. For many years she volunteered with cleaning of the church, counting church offerings and working funeral luncheons.

In 1985 Isabel retired from Meadville Forging. In 1951, at the age of 16, she began working at the family business, Anselmo Grocery, until its closing in 1973. Isabel was a 1953 graduate of Meadville High School. She enjoyed refinishing woodwork and cooking. She loved spending time with her family and she was always there for them. She was generous and selfless.

Isabel is survived by her son Kenneth Mark Kindervater (Terri) of Meadville, a granddaughter Kayli Palmer of HI, and a brother Russell Anselmo of Meadville.

In addition to her parents Isabel was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ann Kindervater, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, pastor, officiating.

Isabel will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, 353 Pine St., or Humane Society of Crawford County, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., both of Meadville, PA 16335.
