Helene (Longo) Moroski

Helene (Longo) Moroski, 77, of Vernon Township, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

Helene was born in Meadville on August 23, 1938, a daughter of the late Mario R. and Louise (Davena) Longo.

On August 6, 1960 Helene married Peter J. Moroski; he preceded her in death.

Helene enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She had been employed in retail sales as well as the family jewelry business which was located in Strongsville, OH. A 1956 graduate of Meadville High School, Helen furthered her education by graduating from Penn State University in 1960. She was a member of the Reale Club and the 1956 Grad Luncheon Group. Her hobbies included reading, listening to classic music as well as opera music, attending the theater and the movies.

Helene is survived by a son Mark Moroski of Medina, OH, a daughter Nadine Moroski of North Ridgeville, OH, a grandson Mario Moroski of Seattle, WA, a granddaughter Danielle Moroski of Medina, OH, two sisters Rose Ann Longo of Meadville, Riccarda "Ricci" Mackanin and her husband Joseph of Moon Township, two nieces Rachel Gattuso and her husband Stephen, Adrienne Corcoran and her husband Kevin, a nephew Andrew Mackanin and a great nephew Stephen A. Gattuso IV.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Helene was preceded in death by a grandson Brian Cerney, a sister Mary Louise Longo, a very special aunt Emiline Lilly Longo, her grandparents Joseph and Antonia Davena, Richard and Carmela Longo.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, at 1:30 PM on Sunday, April 24, 2016.
