Helen V. Angyal

Helen V. Angyal, 95, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, formerly of Clinton Court, Meadville, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Helen was born at home in Cochranton, on February 16, 1921, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve Vargo.

On November 3, 1945, Helen married James Angyal; he preceded her in death on September 9, 2004.

She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.

After several years of service, Helen retired from the former Spencer Hospital as Business Manager. She was a graduate of Cochranton High School. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and gardening; she especially loved tending to her roses.

Helen is survived by a son James Angyal of Shoreview, MN, three granddaughters Anne Angyal, Emily Angyal and Caroline Angyal.

In addition to her parents and her husband, James of 58 years, Helen was preceded in death by a sister Irene Hajdu.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 4-6 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Scripture Service will be held at 5:15 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 29, with Fr. Tom Trocchio officiating.

Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband, James, in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
