Harry W. George, Jr., 87, of 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 15, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

Born in Brownsville, on September 24, 1929, he was son of the late Rev. Harry W. George, Sr. and Catherine Phoebe Wolfe.

He married Dorothy M. Kightlinger on January 5, 1949. He subsequently married Margaret E. Rankin on January 24, 2005.

He worked 25 years at the former Loblaws in Oil City, Franklin and Titusville. He retired from J & J Food Service after 40 years as a sales manager. He loved his work, being around people and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed working outdoors and was always ready to give a helping hand. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include a son Larry George and his wife Bonnie of Mt. Hope, two daughters Linda Perrett and her husband Stan, Cheryl Byham and her husband Randy both of Saegertown, three grandchildren Barry Perrett, Brian Allen, Mandy Walton, seven great grandchildren Jacob, Kaylee, Jonah, Elias, Emma, Ava and Macy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, of 54 years, and his second wife, Margaret, of ten years.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community for the care and compassion they provided to Harry the last years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Wesbury Foundation, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, PA 16335.

In celebration of his life, the family will be holding a private Memorial Service.

Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
