Harold F. Mumau

Harold F. Mumau, 89, of Meadville, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at Meadville Medical Center.

Harold was born in Meadville, on February 10, 1934, a son of the late Frank R. and Laura S. (Stear) Mumau.

Harold had married Selene Laird on July 22, 1961.

He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer where he had served as a deacon, sang in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher, served on the session board and was a youth group teacher.

Harold enlisted in the US Army following his 1953 graduation from Meadville High School and served his country honorably until his discharge on May 25, 1956. Returning to Meadville he worked for the former McCrosky Tool for three years before starting a 44 year career with Channellock, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Internal Order Of Odd Fellows. Harold loved western square dancing and was a member of the Konneyaut Kickers Square Dance Club and the Rambling Squares Camping Dance Group. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Harold is survived by children; Rhonda Louise Karns (Bruce) of Cochranton, Eric P. Mumau of Meadville; grandsons Ryan Mumau of Meadville, Kirk Mumau (Alayna) of England; great grandchild Addilynn Mumau of Meadville; caregiver of many years Selene McGowen of Meadville.

He was preceded in death by siblings Willis Mumau and Louise Ritenour.

Family and friends are invited to call from Friday, December 15, 2023 from 10-11 AM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon officiating. Full military honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.

Harold will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
