Gerald 'Jerry' R. Dudenhaver

Gerald 'Jerry' R. Dudenhaver, 78, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at home.

Jerry was born on March 2, 1935, a son of the late Elmer and Pearl (Schaffner) Dudenhaver.

On August 5, 1961 Jerry married Dorothy J. Humes; she survives.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Jerry retired in 1990 as Vice President of the former Mellon Bank of Meadville, after 30 years of service to it and its predecessor banks. Gerald was a US Army veteran serving in Germany from 1958 to 1960, followed by four years in the Army Reserves achieving the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He was a lifetime member of Meadville Elks Club #219 and a past board member of the local Salvation Army.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, of 52 years, Jerry is survived by a sister-in-law Isabel Smith of Saegertown, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers Paul, Robert, Clifford, Carl Richard and Clinton.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 11-12 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM with Rev. Marshall Lillie, Chaplain of Hospice of Crawford County, officiating.

Entombment, with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006, will take place in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
