Francis "Buzz" Heitzer

Francis "Buzz" Heitzer, 84, Barton Rd., Meadville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at home.

Buzz was born in Punxsutawney, on August 23, 1934, a son of the late Francis and Margaret (McQuown) Heitzer.

On November 10, 1956 Buzz married Joyce Vitello at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anita, Pa; she survives.

He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church.

For more than 45 years Buzz worked in the Food Service Industry. He served his country honorably for four years in the US Air Force. Buzz was a member of the Black Ash Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed motorcycle trips with Joyce and their friends as well as gardening, reading, hunting and time spent camping with family and friends. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought much fun and love into his life. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, Joyce, of 62 years, Buzz is survived by three children Terri Robbins (David), Michael "Mike" Heitzer, and David "Dave" Heitzer (Renee). He was blessed with six grandchildren Kristine, Jackie and Jacob, children of Dave and Renee; Shawn and Sarah, children of Terri and Dave; and Caine, son of Mike. He also has a great granddaughter Chloe, daughter of Kristine and a great grandson Logan, son of Shawn and Sara Robbins. He is further survived by his brother Bill Heitzer of Ellwood City.

In addition to his parents, Buzz was preceded in death by a sister Kitty Defelice.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 1-3 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 PM with Fr. Andrew Boyd, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.

Buzz will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
