Frances "Betty" Ada Wright

Frances Ada ‘Betty’ Wright, 94, wife of the late Leslie P. Wright, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown.

Mrs. Wright was born in Sarnia, Ontario on Jan. 8, 1924, daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys Vincent and raised in Meadville and later Frenchtown.

She attended St Brigid School and graduated from Randolph-East Mead High School. On September 3, 1942, she married Leslie P. Wright who preceded her in death on March 15, 2001. They took up residence in Frenchtown where they lived for 35 years. Betty was employed by the Meadville Tribune for 18 years in the Classified Sales Department. Prior to that she worked at the former American Viscose and the former Talon Inc. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Les to Connecticut and Ohio to visit their children and grandchildren. She and Les were lifelong members of St. Hippolyte Parish and, more recently, St. Agatha Church. Betty was active in St. Hippolyte Women’s Auxiliary. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothing for her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, loving children, Beverly (James) Patterson of Cochranton, Gregg (Marcia) Wright of Beacon Falls, CT, Chris (Ken) Zirkle of Cambridge Springs, Tom (Elena) Wright of Pittsburgh and Brad (Heidi) Wright of Meadville, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband Les of 58 years, Betty was preceded in death by a brother Charles Vincent and a granddaughter Jill Oakes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, August 10th at St. Hippolyte Parish, 25997 Rt. 27, Guys Mills.

Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Les, in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Hippolyte Church.
