Floyd "Slim" N. Caneer

Floyd "Slim" N. Caneer, 85, of 21457 Hunter Road, Meadville, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Crawford County Care Center.

Floyd was born in Cornersville, TN, on November 16, 1933, a son of the late Sidney Floyd and Neatho Elizabeth (Underwood) Caneer.

Slim had been employed as a driver for Micro Tool for nine years. Prior to that he worked as a fitter welder at Seco Warwick for 34 years. In his earlier years he had been employed as a pipe construction foreman by Smith Construction for twelve years. Slim was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed planting and tending to his garden every year with his neighbor, Mike. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.

Slim is survived by two daughters Elizabeth Caneer, Amelia "Millie" Colinear both of Meadville; five stepchildren Wannetta Swasta (John) of Meadville, Robin Stoltz (Robert) of Beaufort, SC, Paula Bartges (Donald) of Linesville, Lyn Wright (Jim) of Cambridge Springs, Lewis Wright (Kelli) of Saegertown; four grandchildren Cassandra Temple (Nathan), Christina Magee (James), Cheyenne Yeager-Long,; twelve step grandchildren Lacey Garza (Ray), Allison Hindman (William), Cameron Stoltz, Jessica Patton (Ryan), Vanessa Bartges, Trevor Rodgers, Hunter Wright, Lauren Wright, John Joliet, Jr., Rebecca Joliet, Julia Nichols, Phillip Nichols (Anne); several great and step great grandchildren; a brother Foster Caneer (Theresa) of Cornersville, TN; a sister Addean Wilburn of Hendersonville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Slim was preceded in death by a sister June Collins, two brothers G.D. Caneer, Robert Caneer and a step daughter Bonetta Gehr.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 1-3 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM with Pastor Andy Robertson of Watson Run Church officiating.

Slim will be laid to rest in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
