Evalin Belle (Battles) Froelicher Graves, 90, of 10479 Krider Rd. Meadville, passed away Thursday, April 28th, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Linda A. Ernst, where she made her home each summer. She was formerly of Sebring, FL, and most recently The Villages, FL, where she resided in the winter months with her daughter and son-in-law, Colette M. and Kenneth Weber.
Evalin was born in Cortland, OH on May 6, 1920, a daughter of the late Albert and Velma (Frantz) Battles.
She was a member of the Methodist faith.
Evalin attended schools in the Hayfield Twp. area. In her earlier years she was employed by the former Talon, Inc., the former WinTronics, the Meadville Country Club and Harder Hall, Sebring, FL. She enjoyed playing cards, going to garage sales, gardening and spending time with her family.
Evalin is survived by two daughters Colette Weber and her husband Kenneth of The Villages, FL, Linda Ernst of Meadville, a step daughter Kathy Phillips Bernard of Washington, a sister Mildred 'Mid' Marendo of Meadville, nine grandchildren Scott Weber of CA, Marc Weber of Hawaii, Eric Weber of CA, Jennifer (Ernst) Elliot and her husband Greg of WV, Micah Ernst of NJ, Seth Ernst of Pittsburgh, Kristin Templin of Meadville, Rochelle Eshelman of Penn State, Shawn Vangrilli of Conneaut Lake, a great granddaughter Elizabeth Elliot, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands Florencz 'Nunie' Froelicher and DeLoss Graves, Evalin was preceded in death by a son Gary Froelicher, six sisters Jean Marie Battles, Olive Eells, Helen Malliard, Bessie McCrory, Hazel Acker, Dorothy Getsinger, three brothers Benjamin 'Ben', Richard 'Dicky' and Gerald 'Jiggs' Battles.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 503 N. Main St., where funds will be designated for a new church handicap ramp, or to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., both of Meadville, PA 16335.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
