Eva Muma

Eva Srbinovich Muma, 85, passed away at her home July 13, 2012. She was born July 11, 1927, in Bobtown, the daughter of Peter and Katherine Santekovic Srbinovich.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Rolland Edward Muma; her twin sister Ann Trbovich of Warren, MI, four daughters, Patricia and her husband Ronald Crist of McKean, Carolyn and her husband Robert Bennett of Shrewsbury, NJ, Eva Marie Ketcham of Saegertown and Kathryn Muma of Conneaut Lake. She also has four grandchildren, Bruce Ketcham and his wife Miranda of Chadbourn, NC, Steven Crist and his wife Kristy of Charlotte, NC, Ann Ketcham of McKean and David Crist of Burke, VA in addition to three great grandchildren, twins Zoeymarie and Zander Ketcham and Ryan Crist and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers; Andrew, William and Robert.
She regularly attended the Edinboro United Methodist Church.
Eva graduated from West Virginia Demonstration High School. After high school, Eva took a secretarial position in Morgantown, WV, but when the company transferred to Tennessee, she came to Cochranton, to live with her parents. She met her future husband who lived on the neighboring farm, married him and moved to the Saegertown area. She and Rolland were lifelong companions and soul mates who provided a model relationship for their children and grandchildren.
Eva was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She wasnever happier than when she had a baby in her arms or was playing with young children.
She helped her husband Rolland on their farm in Saegertown, where she maintained a garden and farm animals, providing most of the food for the family. Her garden was her pride and it was the norm for her to can and freeze more than 700 or 800 quarts of produce each year, which she shared with her friends and extended family. She and Rolland had milk and beef cows, but Eva was the one who milked the cows and made butter and cottage cheese.
Eva crocheted more than 500 afghans in her lifetime which she gave as gifts to family and friends. She was also an excellent seamstress and sewed dresses for the girls, even making the wedding dresses for two of her daughters, the bridesmaids dresses and coordinating suits for her young grandsons. Eva designed and created a Christening gown for a family member from the mothers wedding gown.
Eva made the Muma home a wonderful place to be and gave unstintingly of her time to her family. Her home and family were truly her love and her joy and she will remain a living memory for all of them.
