Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann Kidwell

Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann Kidwell, 61, of Conneautville, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community, surrounded by family.

Betsy was born in Crawford County on November 18, 1960, a daughter of the late Gregory E. Kidwell and Eleanor (Hamilton) Kidwell. Subsequently Eleanor Kidwell married Clarence Kiter, Jr. in 1961.

Following her 1978 graduation from Cochranton High School, Betsy earned her B.S. Degree in Political Science from Gannon University in 1982. Following her graduation, she gained employment in Harrisburg before relocating to Meadville to work at Chaps. There she worked as the Drop In Center Coordinator from 1997 to 2002 and touched many lives. During that time she also provided technical assistance to the Western Region Community Support Program. In 2002 she moved back to Harrisburg where she was instrumental in the development of the Certified Peer Specialist Program (CPS) for Pennsylvania. She was one of the first to teach CPS training in the state. Betsy enjoyed reading all types of books including crime fiction, historical novels and the Bible. Her favorite movies were comedies, action films and historical stories and she loved watching sports, especially NASCAR and the Steelers. She enjoyed listening to country music, especially Tim McGraw and Reba McEntire. She also enjoyed doing crafts. As Betsy's health declined her personality and will remained strong and she never complained. Betsy had the ability to make everyone feel comfortable. She will be most remembered as a very special person with a giving spirit and kind heart.

Betsy is survived by a brother Glenn Kiter (Joyce) of Ocala, FL; a sister Amy Georgeann Kochanek (Kim) and their son Michael of Port Angeles, WA; two nieces Melissa Urey (Billy) of Cochranton and their children Cameron and Ryder, Abby Hare-Harris (Matthew) of Millville, PA; a nephew Aaron Cherry of Amory, MS; long time friend Stephanye Andrey of Meadville and her children Dariyon, Elijah and Emma; many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her nurturing and loving father Clarence Kiter, Jr.; two sisters Cathryn "Cathy" Kidwell Hare, Margaret "Peggy" Kidwell Cherry; and a brother Ben Kiter.
