Elder Sharon Richie Graves

Elder Sharon Richie Graves, 68, of 793 Kennedy St., Meadville, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at home.

Sharon was born in Cleveland, OH on October 24, 1949, a daughter of the late Larry and Doris (Garner) Boyd.

On October 20, 1979 Sharon married James Graves; he preceded her in death on July 7, 2014.

Early in life, Sharon lived in Springboro and attended Conneautville schools, then later, Meadville High School. In her younger years she had worked at the former Talon, Inc. Sharon was an active member of St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church where she served as an Elder, sang in the choir and volunteered with The Food Pantry and Vacation Bible School. Additionally she taught Sunday School, served as Church Secretary and dressed as Clown of Jesus for special events. Church was very important to her and she loved the Lord deeply.

Sharon is survived by a son Courtney B. Harris of Meadville, a sister Alex Fenton of Mt. Vernon, OH, and her children Jonathan Boyd, Lewis Graves, Bradley Finton, Avery Finton and Jon Quil. She is further survived by her church family.

In addition to her parents and husband, James, of 34 years, Sharon was preceded in death by a sister Carol Boyd.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 12-1 PM at St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 792 N. Main Street, Meadville, where A Going Home Service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Cameron T. Bowman officiating.

Sharon will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
