Dorothy Rae “Dot” Mudger, 86 of Meadville, PA died January 30, 2024.
Dorothy Rae Peterson was born in Meadville on August 26, 1937, to Paul and Helen Peterson. She grew up with her younger sister Harriet.
On February 13, 1957, she married Jon W. Robisin. Following Jon’s death, Dot married Mike Mudger on October 25, 1969.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Mike, her daughter Kelly Angeletti (husband John Evans), her son Tim Mudger (wife Jamie Mudger), grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kara, Kendall and Kameron Angeletti, and Jake Mudger. She is also survived by brother-in-law Kenneth Mudger (wife Donna Mudger). Finally, she is survived by many nieces and nephews and her very special friend, Mary Lou Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Jon, sister Harriet Hoke, brother-in-law Pete Hoke, brother-in-law Paul Ronald Mudger, sister-in-law Judy Mudger, and sister-in-law Diane Mudger.
Dottie kind of did it all. She could be seen at the Meadville Halloween parade darting out into the street to light Kelly’s fire batons just before the judge’s booth and collecting them 50 yards later. Dottie was a cheerleading and dance mom. She also had a reputation as a loud and noisy Meadville Bulldog hockey mom. Her house was a hangout for Kelly’s friends and for most of Tim’s Hockey team. As the years passed, Dottie cherished the time she got to spend with her grandkids, regardless of the activity. Like her sister, Dottie did not know how to swim. Despite a serious fear of the water she made many trips to the beach on various boats, even just to spend time with them. Dottie also had a large family, many of whom bore no familial relationship to her. She was a temporary mom to Marcello, an exchange student from Brazil who lived with Mike and Dot. Monday nights, she was one of the girls and guys at Plaza Lanes. Tuesdays belonged to the ladies at Lost Lanes. Many weekends belonged to the one arm bandits at various casinos. A good deal of Dot’s spunk probably came from her parents, Helen and Paul, who lived in the same duplex as Dot and Mike. With a teacher like Helen and a co-pilot like Mike there was no limit to what she would do or be coerced into doing. Dorothy Rae, you will be sadly missed.
