Doris E. Clark, 77, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Marquette Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Doris was born in Corry, on October 10, 1939, a daughter of the late Roy and Mildred (Brown) Brown.

Mrs. Clark attended Spartansburg High School and was a homemaker. For a short time, she had worked as a home health aide, caring for the elderly. She was a member of Vernon Central Fire Department for 35 years. A lifetime member of Vernon Volunteer Fire Department, she was an auxiliary member for many years at both Vernon Central and Vernon Volunteer. She was also a member of VFW Post #2006. Her hobbies and interest included crocheting, camping, playing card games, cooking and fishing. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, James, of 57 years whom she married on September 22, 1959, Doris is survived by two sons James E. Clark, Jr., Ricky A. Clark and his partner Elaine Reagle, two daughters Starlet M. Miller, Connie S. Prenatt, six grandchildren Tiffany Brown and her husband Ryan, Cassandra Prenatt and her fiance Billy Kruszewski, Edan Prenatt, Amanda Prenatt and her partner Daniel Gosnell, Jakob Clark, Casey Clark, four great grandchildren Cole Araujo, Trey Gosnell, Alina Kruszewski, Brooklyn Brown, her sister Amanda Gardner, a sister in law Doris Brown, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by an infant son, brothers L. Leroy Brown, Lawrence Howard Brown, Louis Brown and his wife Louise, Donald Brown and his wife Helen, Larry Brown, sisters Vera Ayers and her husband Claude, Jr., Carol Jewel and her husband Charles and a son in law David J. Prenatt, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 1-3 PM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM with Rev. Marshall Lillie, Chaplain of Hospice of Crawford County, officiating. A Living Memorial Luncheon will follow at Station 27 Fire Hall, 18208 Cussewago Rd., Vernon Twp., Meadville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marquette Hospice House, 464 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.

Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
