Donald W. Rawlings, 82, of Meadville, passed away peacefully, at home on Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Donald was born in Akron, OH on September 26, 1936, a son of the late Creed and Hazel D. (Foister) Rawlings.

On September 28, 1996 Donald married Marilyn "Lyn" Harper; she survives.

He was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Meadville.

In his earlier years, Donald retired from a 14 year career in Church Ministry which lead him to many communities in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He had previously been employed by Street Track and Trail and Palmiero-Gray Toyota. He had also worked as a self-employed carpenter as well as working for a contractor while living in Binghamton, NY. He obtained his GED from Maplewood High School. A veteran, Donald entered the US Army on November 19, 1954 where he served a year in France with the 78th Transportation Co. known as the Red Ball Express. He attained the rank of SP3 and served his country until his honorable discharge on December 27, 1957. Over the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, playing Xbox 360, and playing Poker Stars on the computer.

In addition to his wife, Lyn, of 22 years, Donald is survived by three children Ronald Rawlings (Victoria) of Florida, Richard Rawlings (Betty) of Meadville, Rebecca McMahon (Bill) of Erie, two stepchildren Edward Kirkwood (Caren) of KY, Kathy Lyn Kirkwood of Meadville, 13 grandchildren Jessica Rawlings, Tristan Rawlings, Adrienne Wheaton, Brandon Rawlings, Caiden Rawlings, Michael McMahon, Eric McMahon, Christine Keister (Kurtland), David Casper, Aiden Pinkerton, Brynna Kirkwood, Caitlin Kirkwood, Kelci Kirkwood, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, from 1-3 PM at Church of the Nazarene, 851 Washington St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM, with Rev. Rodney Johnson, officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post # 2006 will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Nazarene, 851 Washington St., Meadville, PA 16335 or Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, Attn: Gift Processing.

Don will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
