Dominic Orlando, 102, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Dominic was born in New York, NY on May 17, 1917, one of seven children of the late Sebastian and Mary Grace (Petruso) Orlando.

He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church.

A veteran of U.S. Air Force, Dominic served his country with honor and distinction as a mechanic from October 11, 1941 until his discharge on December 3, 1945. He was the recipient of the WW II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, Mr. Orlando constructed and remodeled homes with the late Sam Randazzo, worked for C.C. DeVore Lumber Company, was employed as a cabinet maker by the former Sandan's and worked in the maintenance department of Allegheny College. Dominic was a member of Saegertown American Legion Post #205. He enjoyed golfing and being a caddy at Oakland Beach Golf Course in his younger years.

Dominic is survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dominic was preceded in death by a sister Sister Mary of St. Paul, five brothers Joseph, Samuel, Anthony, Santo, and Frank Orlando.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10-11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Dominic will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006.
