David G. Watson

David G. Watson, 80, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Meadville Medical Center.

David was born in Erie on April 22, 1939, a son of the late Garth and Pauline (Emory) Watson. They moved to Meadville in 1941.

On February 4, 1961, David married Marie Stellato; she preceded him in death in 1989. Subsequently he married Joanna Battles Peters in 2000; she survives.

A 1957 graduate of Meadville Area High School, David furthered his education by attending Edinboro and Allegheny Colleges for Art and Mathematics. He worked in the family kitchen equipment and supply business for many years prior to working in the tool and die design industry for many local tooling companies. He retired in 2000.

In addition to his wife, Joanna, David is survived by his children David (Kathy) of Columbus, OH, Tracy of Ambler, Eric (Vicki) of Severna Park, MD, Shawn (Nancy) of Cherry Hill, NJ, ten grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

David enjoyed drawing, painting, antiquing, wood working, gardening, fishing and hunting. He also had an interest in drag race cars and street rods. Above all else, he loved his family, pets and friends. Time spent with them was his greatest joy.

Private services will be held.

David will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
