Charles 'B.C.' A. Thompson, 58, of 17059 State Hwy. 98, Meadville, passed away suddenly, Saturday, September 24th, 2011, at Meadville Medical Center.
Charles was born in Meadville, on November 1, 1952, a son of Wesley H. 'Jack' and Mary Lou (Lilly) Thompson, Jr.
Charles was employed by Kleinfelder as a geologist traveling throughout the state of Pennsylvania. He previously had been employed as a geologist by United Refinery out of Warren and for Geologist Contractors out of Pittsburgh. Graduating from Saegertown High School in 1970 Charles furthered his education by graduating from Edinboro University as a Geologist. A social member of VFW Post #2006, American Legion Post #111 and Station 27, all of Meadville, Charles loved hunting, gardening and was a devoted environmentalist. In his earlier years he enjoyed managing his slow pitch softball team.
In addition to his parents Jack and Mary Lou Thompson, Jr., of Meadville, Charles is survived by three stepchildren LuKay Weatherby, Jacqueline Hetrick and Grady Minnis all of Meadville, three step-grandchildren Jane Heatrix, Samuel Heatrix, Daven Weatherby, a brother William H. Thompson of Conneautville, a sister Cindy Lou Dawson and her husband Mark of Saegertown, two nephews Clay Michael Dawson and Liam Charles Dawson.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, September 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad Street, Saegertown, where a service will be conducted at 7:00 PM by American Legion Post #111.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, at the Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kenneth Custer, Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Charles memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15120 Chicago, IL 60693.
