Carl C. Krihwan

Carl C. Krihwan, 73, of Meadville, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at V. A. Pittsburgh Healthcare System .

Carl was born in Erie, on April 25, 1943, a son of the late Julius O. and Austra Erma (Preedit) Krihwan.

Carl was preceded in death by his long time soul mate Dianne E. Buchhalter on June 2, 2013.

In 2000 Carl retired as Senior Engineer Technician of American Sterilizer Company of Erie, where he had been employed for 24 years. He had previously been employed by G.E. of Erie and by Bell and Howell of Chicago. While living in Erie he attended Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. A Vietnam veteran, Carl entered the US Army on March 13, 1964 and served his country honorably as a Specialist 5, until his discharge on March 11, 1967. Following his 1961 graduation from Academy High School, Erie, Carl attended DeVry University in Chicago, IL for three years where he studied Communications and Electronic Engineering. Carl loved to fly single engine airplanes and received his Pilot's License in 2002. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason with Lawrence Lodge of Erie.

Carl is survived by four children Lorraine G. Hendrickson and her husband Glenn of Cumming, GA, Dr. John C. Krihwan and his wife Maureen of Stratford, NJ, Captain Tiffany J. Krihwan of Milwaukee, WI, Shannalee Deutsch and her husband Justin of Erie and ten grandchildren Ashley, Rachel-Anne, Tyler, Jade, Adain, Owen, Dylan, Caleb, Carson and Zoe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved Dianne E. Buchhalter.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday with Pastor Kenneth Hough of Watson Run Church of God officiating.

Interment with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.
