Byrl E. Braymer, 88, of 22729 Cannon Hollow Rd., Saegertown, passed away Saturday, June 12th, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center.
Byrl was born in East Mead Twp., on November 10, 1921, a son of the late Lavern and Lucy (Daniels) Braymer.
On November 25, 1947 Byrl married Marian Borland; she survives.
He attended Saegertown United Methodist Church, Saegertown.
A life-long, self employed dairy farmer, Byrl had also been employed by the former American Viscose, FMC and Avtex Fibers Corp. for 44 years as an air conditioning operator. For several years, Byrl was the caretaker of Blooming Valley Cemetery. He was a 1939 graduate of the former Randolph High School. A WW II, US Marine Corps veteran, Byrl served his country from January 26, 1942 until his honorable discharge on January 25, 1946. During his service he participated in the Battle of Midway and had attained the rank of Corporal. Over the years Byrl was a strong supporter of the American Red Cross, having donated over 300 pints of blood. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #2006, Meadville and a member of the Meadville Elks Lodge #219. Byrl loved animals, working in his yard, gardening and playing cards. For nearly 50 years Byrl attended Saegertown wrestling matches to cheer on his family and friends. He took great joy in his family and loved being with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Marian of 62 years, Byrl is survived by four children Richard Braymer and his wife Linda, Robert Braymer and his wife Wanda, Alice McClymonds and her husband Seth, James Braymer and his wife Brenda all of Saegertown, 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, a son-in-law Scott McNamara of Meadville, five nieces and four nephews.
In addition to his parents, Byrl was preceded in death by a daughter Ruth McNamara, three sisters an infant Ruth Braymer, Mary Burge and Grace Mears.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, June 14, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335 where an Elks Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM. Family and friends are also invited to call on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, from 10-11 at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, PA 16433 where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM , with Rev. Kenneth Custer, Pastor, officiating.
Interment with Full Military Honors will take place in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
