Blanche L. Hamilton

Blanche L. Hamilton, 86, of Meadville, formerly of Hunter Rd., Meadville, passed away Sunday, July 21st, 2013 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Blanche was born in Wayne Township, on August 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Jerome H and Viola LaRue Kimmel.

On May 10, 1947 Blanche married Albert J. Hamilton; he preceded her in death on November 23, 2011.

She was a member Pine Grove Methodist Church.

Blanche enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. During WW II she was employed by the former Keystone Ordinance as a gun powder inspector. She had also been employed by Crawford County in the Courthouse and by Cargo Cleaners. She was known as the 'cake maker' as she made many of the wedding cakes and special event cakes for family and friends. She was a volunteer at East Mead Volunteer Fire Dept. Blanche enjoyed playing B.I.N.G.O. as well as playing cards and she loved looking after her grandchildren.

Blanche is survived by four children, Robert J. Hamilton and his wife Irene of Beaver, Gary F. Hamilton and his wife Linda of Meadville, Joyce A. McCormick and her husband Michael of Glen Burnie, MD, Cynthia S. Hamilton and her companion David Mailliard of Meadville, seven grandchildren Sonia Lindemann and her husband Karl, Vanessa Kalcevic and her husband Matthew, Marcie Pifer, Matthew Hamilton and his wife Katelyn, Caitlin McCormick and her fianc Matthew Swertfager, Marc McCormick, Emily McCormick , 9 great grandchildren Zacharia and Samuel Lindemann, John and Nikolaos Kalcevic, Kayla, Morgan and Sara Pifer, Dillon and Luke Hamilton, a sister-in-law Janice Kimmel of Sandy Lake, PA, a brother-in-law Dale Hamilton and his wife Lucille of Meadville, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband Albert of 64 years, Blanche was preceded in death by three sisters Arlene, Jane, Marie, four brothers Wilfred 'Bill', Lawrence 'Cal', Meade, and Robert 'Bob'.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4-8 at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 25th, with Pastor Alice McClymonds of Pine Grove Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will take place in Kiser Hill Cemetery, East Mead Twp.
